You’ve Got “Netzach”

A number of months ago I realized something that God had been speaking to me, and nudging me towards. That was to learn Hebrew. He was asking me to learn His sacred language. I’ve gladly accepted the invitation, and have been learning Hebrew, albeit very slowly. It’s a splendid language, very deep, multidimensional and living. I can see that Psalm 107:20 and Eph 4:23 are part of why He wants me to learn it. Already it is helping the renewal of my mind which helps the continuation of delivering me from my destructions.

I can also see the value in learning it because scripture is being expanded for me — what He’s really saying that has been lost in translation in many instances. And so far, even though I’m just at the beginning of learning this amazing language, one of the words that has kept coming up in various ways, and is so applicable to things that are happening in my personal life is netzach (neh’-tsakh).

Netzach has many meanings. For simplicity, and to stay on point, I won’t deep dive on them all here. I’ll focus on my active understanding of it in victory and endurance to persevere and follow through.

God has just brought me through a seriously challenging 4 months — fracture in right knee leaving me unable to walk, a kidney stone, a kidney infection, surgery, and systemic flares of rheumatoid arthritis. All of this happening simultaneously. Halleluyah, praise God (Baruch Hashem) that He’s given me the victory!

This is partly why netzach is so top of mind, because I know that I’ve been living it (rather, the essence of it) throughout those situations. (I share more about it in my audio Think Feel Decide).

In simple terms, this is how I’m experiencing netzach, and would explain it:

God’s splendor and majesty in us that enables our persistence and endurance (netzach) to keep going so that we can experience and exemplify God’s glory — which is victory in the natural world.

In the online dictionary Hebrewerry1 the definition is:  לְנַקֵּחַ Verb Conjugation To win; to overcome, to beat; to conduct, to orchestrate

Nitzachon2 pronounced ni-tza-KHON נִקָּחבֿ ן means victory, triumph. The root of it comes from Netzach (נִקָּח)

That is exactly what the Spirit of God in us does. He gives us fruit to overcome and beat things that are contrary to God. He helps us to conduct ourselves in the righteousness of God. And He orchestrates to help us live out God’s will in and for our lives. We see it over and over in the Gospels, as Jesus, Yeshua the Messiah lived out His life daily. A perfect example of netzach.

All of that is eternal; His glory, His Spirit, His character and will, His mind in us. That is another meaning for netzach — eternal. All of it is active and alive in us as we are in union with, and obedience to God.

As it is written in 1 Chronicles 29:11:

 לְ ֣ יְ֠הֹוָה הַגְּדֻלָּ֨ה וְהַגְּבוּרָ֚ה וְהַוִֹפְאֶ֙רֶת֙  וְהַסֵּ֣צַ ח וְהַה֔בֿד

Yours, O Lord, are the greatness, and the might, and the glory, and the victory, (וְהַסֵּ֣צַ ח) and the majesty,

Thank You God for Netzach. Thank You for what it brings to life in me, in us Your believers, and for the power and purpose of it. You are glorious God. Amen.
