Uh Oh!

Here’s another one of those “catch-all” verses that so many people take out of context.

Probably the most common application of this verse is made when we encounter a difficult task or set what seems to be an impossible goal.

We blithely say, “With God all things are possible.”

While that is true, the context of this verse had to do with the salvation of rich people…people who seem to have it all.

Jesus’ disciples saw this as an impossibility.

When we read the entire conversation between the disciples and Jesus, we discover the REAL application of the verse.

Here’s my understanding of the verse.

I pray for Putin’s salvation…because with God all things are possible.

I pray for my prodigal grandchildren to return to Christ…because with God all things are possible.

I pray for world-wide revival…because with God all things are possible.

I pray for the salvation of all candidates running for office in America today…because with God all things are possible.

I encourage you today to think of the most unlikely person to be saved who is on your radar…and realize that with God that dictator, that tyrant, that drunk, that druggie, that sexual deviate, that lying politician, that abortionist…can be saved.
