David Claassen is a retired pastor, having served one church in Toledo, Ohio, retiring in his 40th year of ministry. Pastoring a church with a large senior population—along with his own journey into later life—inspired him to study 'aging' and ultimately write "Growing Older Gracefully." He has a BA from Central College and graduated with a MDiv from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. David has written a book of children’s object lessons titled "Object Lessons for a Year." "Silent Words Loudly Spoken" is a collection of church sign sayings. He has also written a novel, "Kathryn’s Fountain." In addition, he has self-published a number of both fiction and non-fiction works. David continues to write a weekly inspirational newspaper column for his hometown paper, something he has done for over forty-five years. He and his wife were married in 1972 and raised two children. They have two homes, dividing their time between a daughter and her family in Mexico, and a son and his family in Florida. David maintains a web site and a blog at http://www.daveclaasen.com. He can be reached by email at [email protected].
