You are dying. It’s a simple fact. You may have fewer than 50 years left to live. Perhaps far fewer. Some of you may not make it another year. The same is true of me. I could live for several more decades or I could die very soon. I don’t know and neither do you.
So, let me ask you a question. What are you living for? Are you spending your days in ways that, in God’s great plan, are frivolous? Are you putting your energy and precious little time into nothing beyond the daily grind of life? Are you living a life of just getting through the day? Or…are you gaining a heart of wisdom? Are you taking time every day to grow closer to God? Are you becoming more mature in Him, are you becoming more like Jesus? Are you helping other people to see the light of Christ? Are you doing work that is in service to the Great Commission?
If the Lord took you home to be with Him today, would you be excited to share with Him what you did for Him yesterday…or would you be anxious that He might ask? Our lives are measured in years, but they are lived in days. Don’t let a day go by in which you didn’t spend time with your Lord. And find ways…find a way today, to help draw someone closer to Him. Your days are numbered, don’t waste them in just living a life of fruitless sameness.
