Two ways of looking at the things that happen to us…

Israel went out of Egypt” (Psalm 114:1). “The Lord saved Israel” (Exodus 14:30).

There are two ways of looking at the things that happen to us. We can say, “This is what I have done.” We can say, “This is what the Lord has done for me.” Do we look at life on the surface? or Do we look for the deeper meaning in life? In one sense, we look back and we say, “This is the story of my life.” When we think a bit more deeply about our life, do we not feel ourselves being prompted to say something more: “This is the way in which the Lord has led me”?
