Today’s 333 Devotional: “Make Today Count”
And the Lord has declared this day that you are his people, his treasured possession as he promised, and that you are to keep all his commands.
Deuteronomy 26:18 NIV
Living our lives in the Lord is all about today. It’s not about yesterday or last year. It’s also not about tomorrow or next year. It is all about today. This was Moses’ advice to the people.
“The Lord your God commands you this day to follow these decrees and laws; carefully observe them with all your heart and with all your soul. You have declared this day that the Lord is your God and that you will walk in his ways, that you will keep his decrees, commands, and laws, and that you will obey him. And the Lord has declared this day that you are his people, his treasured possession as he promised, and that you are to keep all his commands. He has declared that he will set you in praise, fame and honor high above all the nations he has made and that you will be a people holy to the Lord your God, as he promised.” (Deuteronomy 26:16-19)
Today is the day we got up and are going about living life. So today we have choices to make, and it starts by choosing to follow the Lord and obeying His word for our lives.
Today is the day we need to get into the Bible and study to show ourselves approved by God as a workman who is correctly handling life in accordance with God’s will (2 Timothy 2:15).
Today we are children of God and have chosen to no longer walk in the ways of the world, but rather in the ways of God. And as a child of God today we are His own treasured possession.
When we choose to live for God today, He will praise and hold us in high honor as He separates us for His glory and service in the sight of others.
And when tomorrow rolls around, then tomorrow will be our “today,” where we have the privilege to do it all over again.
So, Make Today Count

I am reminded of 1 Peter 2:9, ”But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;“ As God chose us to be set apart for him, we absolutely need to chose daily to follow God and word and ways, not being conformed to the world; it’s not a one time thing but every day of our lives. ”And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.“
Romans 12:2 NKJV
