Thought For Today: “Don’t Lose Heart”
When we feel abandoned and completely alone, remember that the Lord will never leave or forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:6; Hebrews 13:5).
David was familiar with this, saying: “Do not leave me nor forsake me, O God of my salvation. When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take care of me.” (Psalm 27:9b-10)
Now consider David’s hope.
“I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!” (Psalm 27:13-14)
To the exiles, God gave this encouragement: even though He cast them off, He would always be their sanctuary in the midst of their exile (Ezekiel 11:16).
Therefore, let’s wait on the Lord and not lose heart, knowing that He cares for us, even as He disciplines us, and that He will never leave or forsake us.

Well worth remembering when we’re feeling down and out.
Thanks, and I hope that you have a great evening and weekend. God bless
In reading this, I am reminded of how God was with us from the very beginning of what led to Ken’s surgery last week. I didn’t find this out until the day we got home from the hospital 6 days later that our neighbor in the building next to us from our condo had been on his patio having his devotions, and the moment the paramedics pulled up, he immediately began praying for Ken and I both as Ken was taken by ambulance to the hospital. Before I even got the prayer request on the prayer chain, those prayers had already begun. The neighbor, shortly after we got home told us all about it, stating that he and his mom had kept us in prayer the whole week. We knew that our church family had been praying for us, once they received word, but God used these neighbors, whom we barely knew, as they were fairly new to the neighborhood, to let us know after the fact, that God had already begun giving us that reassurance of His presence through their intercession before word even got out. As I look back, God had given me a tremendous peace from the very beginning, even on the way to the hospital. I am reminded of the scripture in Isaiah 43:2, “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you.” In our deepest hour, God will never leave or forsake us.” Praise God for the blessing it was for us both to be back in church in person with our brothers and sisters in Christ this morning!
Thank you, Debbie. I am so glad to see Ken doing so much better. It is definitely a praise report, and a message not to lose heart because it is under God’s control, not ours.
