The Paradoxes of Life! Is this the way to Happiness?

A paradox is defined as a statement that is seemingly contradictory or opposed to common sense, and yet may be true. Such is found in the Word of God, when Jesus said in Matthew 10:39, “He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.”

In the same vein, some paradoxes illustrate life’s applications in how people actually desire their life to be, and how their actions and pursuits show the complete opposite. For example, we all heard the saying, “Everyone wants to go to heaven but nobody wants to die.”

Proverbs 13:7 says: “There is one who makes himself rich, yet has nothing;
and one who makes himself poor, yet has great riches.”

Paul in 1 Corinthians 3:19 said, “For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He catches the wise in their own craftiness.”

So, what’s the point here? Interestingly, our world while claiming to be wise, consistently demonstrate by their actions and words the complete opposite.

Let’s think about our much time, effort and money people invest for education, fitness, retirement, for a life that might last 90 years, yet won’t give God the time of day towards life after death; or that they pass laws against murder, yet allow the killing of children still in the womb!

Paradox enough?

What André started out as a daily message to his sons in 2019, has grown into daily messages to all who wish to receive them. While he didn’t have a clue he was to share these messages with the world, the Lord put on his heart in 2020 to do so. The purpose of his daily messages is to remind those of us who know Christ as Savior and Lord, that He is present in this world and in our lives. André desires to keep each one “Short and To The Point,” so you will take time to read them. They are NOT related to opinion. They simply “Point to Scripture.” He leaves us with a one sentence “Challenge thought” to help us live out our commitment to focus on Christ and live by His word. If you desire to read more of his scripture challenges you will find him at Christ At The Helm
