Let us thank people who help us in our hard times – but let us not forget, also, to thank the Lord.
“Salvation belongs to the Lord; may your blessing be on your people” (Psalm 3:8).
Salvation comes from the Lord, Blessing comes from him. When we are feeling down, this is what we need to hear – a word of encouragement. This is more than help that comes to us from other people. This is help that comes to us from the Lord. We appreciate the help that comes to us from other people – but we need more than that. We need the help that comes to us from the Lord. Let us thank other people when they help us in our difficult times – but let us not forget, also, to give thanks to the Lord.
