I have had prayers answered by the Lord

Lately I have had prayers answered by the Lord in areas where I have had difficulty for some time. The answers have been clear, simple, and directly applicable to each situation. He has given me wisdom, courage, and moved in the hearts of others to support the answers. And do you know why He has suddenly answered so gloriously in these areas? Because I stopped talking and complaining about them and started really praying about them.

Beloved, how often have we been in difficult situations where something desperately need to be changed and nothing improved for a long time? And in those situations, how often have we failed to sincerely pray for wisdom and favor? We may say we’re praying about it, but are we really? And are we fully ready to change according to what the Holy Spirit answers in our hearts and minds? Please don’t just gloss over this and say “I am praying about it!” Are you praying in humility? Are you praying in His will? And, are you righteous in Christ before God? James tells us that the prayer of a righteous person is “powerful and effective” (James 5:16) but right before that he tells us to confess our sins to each other that we may be healed. Unconfessed sin will hinder your prayers being answered.

Even if you are in a right standing with God, you’re still not going to hear answers to prayers that you don’t pray. James also tells us that God will generously give us wisdom…if we ask Him (James 1:5). Beloved, if you need an answer to prayer, then get on your knees and sincerely ask God for wisdom and favor. And ask specifically. Don’t throw out a general prayer, ask the Lord to give you wisdom in the exact situation where you need His help. God is happy to provide very practical guidance, if we will but ask. Stop suffering and start praying, then listen for the quiet voice of the Holy Spirit to direct you on the path.
