I’ve finally come to the point that when I have an appointment somewhere, I take a book or my Kindle with me so that I can “redeem the time” while I wait.
Last week as I waited for my wife at the hair salon, I worked on the Bible Study lesson I was to teach on Sunday.
My ways of dealing with waiting do not require either strength, or courage of heart. But I’m learning to wait productively.
David waited 15 plus years between his anointing as king of Israel until he actually ascended to the throne.
During the wait, he NEEDED a courageous heart and physical strength just to survive another day.
But…he knew, not the what, but the WHO he was waiting to show up. He said it twice in one sentence.
So…whatever you are waiting for…realize that you are not waiting for someTHING but for someONE.
Henry Blackaby said “God is never late.” and then he said that when he mentioned that his wife would say, “But He’s never early either.”
Our timeless God created TIME. And He put us in it.
So, if you are waiting, you are in good company. Think of Abraham, Joseph, the nation Israel, Moses, Caleb, David.
And be what God has designed you to be…strong and courageous while you wait.

“I compare you, my love, to a mare among Pharaoh’s chariots.”
