I Am Your Enemy

I find victims among the rich and the poor alike, the young and the old, the strong and the weak.

I Am Your Enemy

I am more powerful than the combined armies of the world.
I’ve destroyed more men than all the wars of all nations.
I massacre thousands of people every year.
I’m more deadly than bullets, and I wreck more homes than tornadoes and hurricanes.
In the United States alone, I steal more than 500 million dollars each year.
I spare no one.
I find victims among the rich and the poor alike, the young and the old, the strong and the weak.
Widows know me by their everlasting sorrow.
I lumen up in such proportions, I cast my shadow over field of labor.
I lurk in unseen places and do most of my work silently.
You’re warned about me, yet you heed me not.
I am relentless, merciless and cruel.
I’m everywhere — in the home, on the street, in the factory, at the railroad crossings, on land, in the air, in the sea.
I bring sickness, degradation, and death.
Yet, few seek to destroy me.
I crush, I maim, I will give you nothing, and I may rob you of everything you have. I am your worst enemy.

I am CARELESSNESS.

The Bible repeatedly warns against the dangers and negative consequences associated with Carelessness, particularly in the realm of spiritual life and obedience to God.

Here are some key verses and principles to consider:

Matthew 12:36: I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak,

  • This verse speaks to the seriousness of careless words, stating that people will be held accountable for them on the day of judgment.

Ephesians 5:15-16: Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil

  • This passage encourages living wisely and intentionally, making the most of opportunities and avoiding carelessness, especially in light of the presence of evil.

1 Peter 5:8: Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

  • This verse identifies the devil as an adversary and stresses the need for vigilance and alertness, suggesting that carelessness can make one susceptible to his attacks.

Hebrews 2:1: Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it.

This passage warns against the danger of neglecting what has been heard, implying that carelessness can lead to drifting away from faith.

The Bible encourages believers to embrace diligence, watchfulness, and thoughtful obedience as ways to counter carelessness in their spiritual journey and live a life that pleases God.
