Bring Your Bible to School Day (Today’s Date)

“Bring Your Bible to School Day” is an annual event, launched by Focus on the Family, that encourages Christian students to express their faith by bringing a Bible to school and sharing what God’s Word means to them. The event aims to empower students to be “doers of the word” (James 1:22), foster discussions about the Gospel, connect students with fellow believers, and celebrate religious freedom. The event is held on the first Thursday of October each year and is student-led, with the intention of sharing God’s grace and truth with their peers.

The event emphasizes living out one’s faith, not just listening to it.

“This annual campaign empowers Christian students of all ages to speak God’s grace and truth into the culture around them, starting with two steps — bringing their Bibles to school and sharing what God’s Word means to them.

It serves as a reminder and celebration of students’ First Amendment rights to freedom of speech and religion.

James 1:22: The inspiration behind the day is James 1:22, which says, “Be doers of the word, and not hearers only”. This verse encourages active application of faith in daily life.

Mark 16:15: “And he said to them, ‘Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation'”

2 Timothy 4:2: Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.

Romans 1:16: For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile

Ezra Read the Bible for Hours

Nehemiah 8:1: “all the people assembled as one man in the square before the Winter Gate. They told Ezra the scribe to bring out the Law of Moses, which the Lord had commanded for Israel”
