The Difference a Foundation Makes

A life built on Christ stands firm; without Him, it collapses.

The Difference a Foundation Makes

Luke 6:46-49, Jesus says “Why do you call Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? Everyone who comes to Me and hears My words and acts on them, I will show you whom he is like: he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid a foundation on the rock; and when a flood occurred, the torrent burst against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built. But the one who has heard and has not acted accordingly, is like a man who built a house on the ground without any foundation; and the torrent burst against it and immediately it collapsed, and the ruin of that house was great.”

Throughout Scripture, Jesus tells many parables but it’s all the same message; be prepared and be ready. For those who refuse to turn from their sin, I beseech you to heed this stark warning.

If you were saved, you became justified and the process of sanctification, being changed, began. You cannot have a genuine encounter with the One True Living God and remain unchanged.

In Luke 17:26-30, Jesus tells us “And just as it happened in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man: they were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. It was the same as happened in the days of Lot: they were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, they were building; but on the day that Lot went out from Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. It will be just the same on the day that the Son of Man is revealed.”

Hebrews 9 says, “And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment.” You better be ready to meet Him, because when the time suddenly arrives, your destination is unchangeable! Whether you die unexpectedly or are alive at the Second Coming of Christ, there is a terrible danger in being unprepared! You better be ready to meet Him, because when the time suddenly arrives, your destination is unchangeable!

In the light of Christ’s immanent return, are you ready? Or making preparation for the events of this life, what you will do after church is over, where you will go to eat or maybe the week ahead or your next vacation.

Brian Monzón grew up attending church with his grandmother. Through her actions, she impressed upon him the power of the prayers of the righteous, as she herself spent many hours kneeling before God, praying for her family and the needs of others. Besides being a pastor, Brian has been studying and teaching the Word of God for many years. He has devoted his life to sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ, praying with and for others, especially the unsaved. Brian is also a proud father of four children. He challenges them to be their best and has strived to raise his family up in church and on the Word of God. To discover more about Brian and his ministry please visit Brian Monzón Ministries.
