ALL. THE. ANGELS
Sometimes it’s just fun to think about details we often glance past when reading long passages. Take this verse for example. In the middle we read, “and all the angels with Him.” ALL. THE. ANGELS. How many angels you might ask. In the next chapter Jesus tells us that the Father could send “more than twelve legions of angels.” Twelve legions would be at least 72,000!! So when Jesus comes back, He’s coming with more than 72,000 angels! And if we look back in Exodus we see that ONE “destroying angel” was all that was necessary to take out all of of the firstborn sons of Egypt. WOW! These are beings of unimaginable power and Jesus will come with tens of thousands of them! It will be such a glorious sight to see…and that’s not even the focus. The focus is Jesus Himself, coming in glory to sit on His glorious throne! Praise be to God for His unmatched power and love!
When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. Matthew 25:31 ESV
