A Scripture and a Prayer: “A Great Treasure”

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth … but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew 6:19-21)

Prayer:

Lord, help me to know where true treasure lies. Help me to stop looking to or at the world to find satisfaction but let me start looking to You and Your word. For Your word is true treasure and flows directly to the heart. Help me take to heart Colossians 3:1-2 that tells me to keep seeking the things above, where You, Jesus, are seated at the right hand of the Father. Therefore, help me set my mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. And this I ask in Your precious name Lord Jesus. AMEN
