Thought For Today: “We Need Each Other”
“We can do more together than we can do separately.”
As churches and believers we need to break down the denominational walls that separate us and prevent God from doing a work amongst us.
Solomon said, “Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up.” (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10)
We need each other. God never created us to be alone. He said it wasn’t good for man to be alone (Genesis 2:18). God made us for relationship, which is at the heart of the Great Commandment where we are to love God with the whole of our being, which is then worked out in our loving our neighbors as ourselves (Matthew 22:37-38).
We need to get connected with one another if we want to grow in our relationship with God.
“As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.” (Proverbs 27:17)

Amen! That is why it tells us in Hebrews 10:24-25, “And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.” God never called us to walk this walk of faith alone. We need that accountability and encouragement in order to grow in our faith, being all that God has called us to be, and be strong in our walk with Jesus. It is also necessary in helping us resist temptation. Hebrews 3:13 tells us to, “exhort one another daily, while it is called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.” As for the need to break down those denominational walls, It is such a blessing when we do see churches coming together for the sake of reaching our community for Christ. As the worship song, “By Our Love” goes, “They will know we are Christians by our love”. Seeing that love and unity amongst the body of Christ is what is going to transform our communities for Him.
Very well stated. I greatly appreciate your insight. Take care and God bless
