God’s Glory- Devotional

Based on the Book of Common Prayer

This prayer begins with a declaration of who God is and what He has revealed: “Almighty God, you have revealed to your Church your eternal Being of glorious majesty and perfect love…” The Trinity is not a human discovery — it is a divine revelation. God shows Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, not to confuse us but to draw us into the eternal life of love that He Himself is.

“One God in Trinity of Persons.” This is the heart of Christian faith:

The Father who creates and loves

The Son who redeems and restores

The Spirit who sanctifies and sustains

Three Persons, one God — perfect unity, perfect communion, perfect love.

“Give us grace to continue steadfast in the confession of this faith…” Faithfulness is not automatic. We need grace to remain steady, to hold fast to the truth, to keep worshiping the God who has revealed Himself. Steadfastness is not rigidity — it is devotion, rootedness, and trust.

“And constant in our worship of you, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit…” Worship is the natural response to revelation. When we see God as He truly is — glorious, majestic, loving — our hearts bow, our voices rise, and our lives align with His holiness.

“For you live and reign, one God, now and forever.” The prayer ends with the eternal reality: God does not change. His reign is not temporary. His glory is not fading. His love is not uncertain. The God who reveals Himself is the God who reigns forever.

This prayer teaches us that the doctrine of the Trinity is not an abstract formula — it is the living heartbeat of Christian worship. We confess the Trinity because we have encountered the God who is Father, Son, and Spirit, and we worship Him because His glory is eternal.

Prayer

Almighty God, keep me steadfast in the faith You have revealed. Let my heart remain constant in worship, my mind anchored in Your truth, and my life shaped by Your love. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, You live and reign forever — draw me into Your eternal glory. Amen.
