Grace Is Not a License to Sin

Romans 6:1-2, “What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase? 2 May it never be! How shall we who died to sin still live in it?”

Every day, the integrity of Christians is being tested. The choices and decisions that you make validate or invalidate what you claim to believe. You blend in with everyone else, taking the path of least resistance with a worldly perspective or you stand out, holding true biblical conviction, shining Christ’s Light into the darkness.

We live in a day where many Christians are no longer concerned with biblical principles or morality. For the most part, we could care less about what God has to say unless it can be manipulated to accomplish whatever we want.

We have compromised with the world so long, we’re willing to forgo true salvation in order to indulge ourselves with whatever sinful pleasure we feel we want, even though God’s Word condemns it. We go ahead and do it anyway and justify it as God has somehow changed His mind about sin, in the name of love and tolerance.

James 3:11 “Does a fountain send out from the same opening both fresh and bitter water?”

True Christianity cannot compromise God standards in order to be compatible with the world, we are to be living in the world, separated from the worlds corrupt values. You cannot be the friend of the world, compromise God’s standards and call yourself a Christian. God never compromises, neither should we.

1 John 2:15, “Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.”

Christ did not die on the cross, to purchase us for Himself, to redeem us from sin, so that we could live an unholy life dishonoring to God. We can’t live a worldly life and serve the Lord. There must be a separation, we must never deviate from God’s Word, eliminating His Truth to compromise with the world, redefining what is right and wrong, because God calls us to such a commitment.

1 John 3:1, “See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called children of God.”

We must draw the line where God draws the line. We are called to be uncompromising with the worlds system and to cleave to the Lord. That is precisely what characterizes the life of a Christian. I believe it’s time to reorient themselves with what God’s Word says and get their theology right, and renew their commitment to God’s Word.

1 Peter 4:3, “For the time already past is sufficient for you to have carried out the desire of the Gentiles, having pursued a course of sensuality, lusts, drunkenness, carousing, drinking parties and abominable idolatries.”
