A Habitual Pattern of Sin

Philippians 3:17-19, “Brethren, join in following my example, and observe those who walk according to the pattern you have in us. For many walk, of whom I often told you, and now tell you even weeping, that they are enemies of the cross of Christ, whose end is destruction, whose god is their appetite, and whose glory is in their shame, who set their minds on earthly things.”

A habitual pattern of sin in the life of a professing Christian, demonstrates a complete lack of understanding of Scripture. If you have been indeed born again, it’s incompatible with your new nature!

If you belong to Christ, why on earth would anyone even want to participate in that ungodly behavior? There is no answer, is there? You need to learn to recognize it for what it is, sin. It’s despicable! In coming to Christ, your relationship with Him should control your behavior. Don’t go to church on Sunday, thinking all is well when it’s not. God is convicting you that you’re not even a Christian at all. With all of your religious, external appearance your heart does not belong to Christ, don’t resist that conviction.

Instead of being irritated by this message, and I know some of you are, creating your defense in your own mind, you should be saying “God, thank you for bringing a warning to my attention that will help me pursue holiness.”

Why would you live against God’s Word in order to preserve your sin when it will only lead to your own destruction? Are you really prepared to exclude yourself from Christ’s kingdom and seal yourself under the wrath of God, simply so that you can continue in that sin? Read God’s Word for yourself, see the consequences of that sin that you love, and allow it to transform your life, don’t take my word for it.

Jesus Christ said, “I came to seek and to save the lost,” humble yourself before Him, turn to Him for mercy and be forgiven while there’s still time. Contrary to popular opinion, believing in your chosen truth does not make it accurate. There is only one truth! God’s Truth, your version of it doesn’t matter!

Brian Monzón grew up attending church with his grandmother. Through her actions, she impressed upon him the power of the prayers of the righteous, as she herself spent many hours kneeling before God, praying for her family and the needs of others. Besides being a pastor, Brian has been studying and teaching the Word of God for many years. He has devoted his life to sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ, praying with and for others, especially the unsaved. Brian is also a proud father of four children. He challenges them to be their best and has strived to raise his family up in church and on the Word of God. To discover more about Brian and his ministry please visit Brian Monzón Ministries.

Well said Man of God !! Surrender is not weakness; it is the highest form of strength. It is the moment you stop striving to control what was never yours to carry and place it fully into the hands of God. We exhaust ourselves trying to hold everything together—plans, outcomes, expectations—yet peace has never come from control; it has always come from trust. what you release to God, He restores with greater purpose.
