Thought for Today: Are You Ready?

“Jesus is coming for you… are you ready?”

That question isn’t meant to bring fear into my heart—it’s meant to bring focus.

When I think about the return of Jesus Christ, I’m reminded that this life is temporary, but what I do with it carries eternal weight. Scripture tells me His return will be sudden, unexpected—like a moment I can’t predict or control.

“For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.”1 Thessalonians 5:2 (KJV)

So the question becomes personal: Am I living ready?

Not perfectly. Not flawlessly. But faithfully.

Am I truly trusting Him—not just in words, but in how I live? Am I walking in obedience, even when it’s hard? Am I staying spiritually awake, or have I let distractions dull my urgency?

“Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.”Matthew 24:42 (KJV)

Being ready isn’t about guessing dates or fearing the future—it’s about walking daily with Him. It’s about a real relationship, not just religion. It’s about choosing Him again and again in the ordinary moments of life.

“And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.” — 1 John 3:3 (KJV)

This hope—the return of Christ—isn’t something I dread. It’s something I look forward to. It reminds me to live with purpose, to love deeper, to stay faithful, and to keep my eyes on what truly matters.

Because one day, faith will become sight.

And when that day comes, I don’t want to be caught unprepared—I want to be found walking with Him.

“Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.”Revelation 22:20 (KJV)
