Thought for Today: “Faithful in Few Things”
“One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much.” (Luke 16:10a)
Hurdling is a track and field event where a runner must clear a series of barriers known as hurdles, each must be taken in stride and failure to pass over these hurdles results in disqualification.
The Christian life is made up of a series of steps and hurdles each needing to be cleared so that we can cross the finish line. We can’t just run over or around them, nor can we ignore them. Instead, we must be faithful to navigate each one in stride.
We see this in Jesus’s Parable of the Talents. When the servant was faithful in what he had been given, much more would be added.
“Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.” (Matthew 25:21)
We need to be faithful at each hurdle in life, and then we’ll cross the finish line hearing the Lord say to us, “Well Done.”
