“Living Under Divine Accountability”

“He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

What does being accountable to God imply?

Matthew 12:36-37, “I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the Day of Judgment. For by your words, you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”

The reason the apostle John speaking of Jesus said:

1 John 2:4-6, “He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.”

As such:

Ephesians 6:12, “We do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”

1 Corinthians 14:33, “God is not the author of confusion but of peace.”

1 John 2:3, “Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments.”

And as the apostle Paul said:

2 Corinthians 5:21, “He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”

Therefore:

Proverbs 28:13, “He who covers his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.”
